It’s hard to talk about Cinco de Mayo without talking about margaritas. I love them, but all the calories? Not so much. Also something I don’t love are the light margarita mixes. They are too artificial tasting for me, and if I am going to spend calories on alcohol, I’m going to enjoy it.
I got this recipe from my wedding, along with the margarita glasses and pitcher to serve them with. I can’t remember who or where it is from, but it turns out to be one of my favorite margaritas. They are so simple to make. No blender or measuring cups required! You can simply use the Limeade can to measure out the tequila and the diet squirt. Plus, it is a bit lighter than most traditional margaritas, but it doesn’t taste like it is light at all.Also, this recipe originally included an additional 12 ounce can of beer. That is also delicious and an interesting twist you can add, but it will cost you more macros.
There are a couple ways to break up the macro count for this recipe, since alcohol is technically its own macro-nutrient. Yes, it has calories, but it doesn’t have any carbs, fat, or protein. So to make sure those calories are accounted for, you need to count your alcohol calories as either carbs or fat, or both!
